Ideas for things to do on your Venice Beach vacation!

Planning a Venice Beach vacation?  We have a list of things to see while you are in town plus a few ideas on places to stay.  Your California vacation awaits!  Plan your trip now and spend some time the land of fun and sun.   There are plenty of beaches in the Los Angeles area, however, none are quite like Venice Beach. This unique beach has everything from a boardwalk to Happy Hour.  Spend the day on the beach swimming and playing beach volleyball then try one of the late night dance clubs.  If you’re looking for a hot spot this summer in the area, Venice Beach is it.

Once you are in Venice, the Santa Monica pier is a close car ride away.  Ride the iconic ferris wheel and roller coaster then dive into a churro or funnel cake.  The pier is full of fun things to do for all ages.  Keep an eye out for events such as concerts and more that are held seasonally.

Take a short day trip to the Malibu area while you are in town.  If you love surfing, one of the best beaches to test your skills is Malibu Surfrider Beach.  Malibu Point creates an awesome atmosphere for those who want to surf when travelling to California.  Pack a picnic and enjoy a low key lunch on the wooden pier.

If surfing is not on your agenda, you can head 10 miles west of Malibu on Highway 1 and you’ll find yourself at an amazing beach. If you’ve ever seen pictures of El Matador State Park, it is simply breathtaking. You might find the beach a little busy in the summer, but you can still have a great time. The natural beauty of the beach is the #1 reason to get out there and get your feet in the sand this summer.

Tongva Park is the perfect place to spend the day surrounded by nature.  The park features native and locally-appropriate sustainable plants that change with the seasons.  Walk through four sections of the 6 acre park then cool off on the splash pad.  The kids can also tackle the play area while the adults relax and enjoy the scenery.
