Juliette’s Neighborhood Guide: Shopping, Dining, and Local Favorites in Iconic Venice

Juliette’s Neighborhood Guide: Shopping, Dining, and Local Favorites in Iconic Venice

The Venice lifestyle is truly unmatched. Cafes, restaurants, shopping, wellness, all just moments from the iconic beach and boardwalk. The best part is you don’t even need to worry about getting in your car as this is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in LA.

Keep ready for my local favorites and recommendations for everything from shopping, dining, groceries, wellness, and more!

WHERE TO DINE

Foodies from all over flock to Venice for some of the best restaurants and dining experiences in the state. Well-known chefs have put down roots on Abbot Kinney and people will really drive all the way from the Valley just to get a table at these favored restaurants.\

1. RVR

The coolest Japanese style izakaya serving creative cocktails and small plates in a unique setting.

2. Felix

Evan Funke’s take on traditional Italian cuisine, they have the most amazing fresh biscuits, pasta, classic dishes, and desserts.

3. Barrique

My favorite stop for pasta & wine, this high-end Italian spot is set in an old candlelit house with a gorgeous deck.

4. Great White

Open air dining featuring a coastal California menu and New American classics. They have a great breakfast burrito and delicious cocktails!

5. Belle’s Beach House

Enjoy laid back island vibes with delicious cocktails and Hawaiian style izakaya cuisine.

6. Si! Mon

Central American cuisine with unique flavors. Their menu features seafood specials such as uni shooters and curry sashimi, pupusas, fried chicken legs, market veggies, and more!

7. Butcher’s Daughter

Dine al fresco at Butcher’s Daughter for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Highlights include vegan and vegetarian fare, stone oven pizzas, fresh juices, and a gorgeous wine selection.

8. Salt & Straw

No one does gourmet ice cream quite like Salt & Straw! Craft made with farm fresh flavors, their menu rotates with the seasons to highlight the freshest flavors around!

WHERE TO SHOP

Abbot Kinney is known for its incredible selection of boutiques, from unique local brands to well-known favorites, you could spend hours shopping on this stretch of Venice!

1. Birkenstock

Who doesn’t love this iconic footwear brand? Sandals, slides, boots, and more for the whole family. The Venice location is the second company-owned retail store in the US, and one of only few in the country!

2. Farm Rio

Brazil’s beloved women’s clothing brand, the clothing at this store is colorful, patterned, and beautiful for all occasions!

3. Aviator Nation

A California classic, Aviator Nation is a 1970s inspired lifestyle brand with hand-made hoodies, sweats, and surf wear.

4. Burro

This eclectic store on Abbot Kinney has a wide selection of artsy gifts, apparel, home goods, hand bags, great coffee table books, cards & stationery, and more. The perfect place to pop in if you are looking for a unique hostess gift or simply want something new to spruce up your space!

5. Vardagen

This small store sells beautiful original hand-drawn graphic tees and tanks. Everything is screenprinted in-house with eco-friendly inks!

WHERE TO WORK OUT, RESET, AND RECHARGE

If you live in Venice, you probably prioritize your health and wellness. This neighborhood makes it easy as it is so walkable and there are so many great options for working out and staying fit. Whether you prefer runs or bike rides on the beach or an exclusive gym setting that feels more like a club, there are plenty of choices.

1. HUME

This private, exclusive health club offers an array of amenities from group fitness classes, a gorgeous spa, lounge areas, personal training, and more.

2. Soho House

Slated to open summer 2027, Soho House’s newest location will have over 23,000sf of wellness-forward space across two stories, including an indoor fitness club, outdoor dining terrace, and a well-appointed spa.

3. The Lighthouse

For the creatives and content creators, this is the first-ever creative campus and studio playground for the Creator Community, located inside a historic post office on Main Street. Just one block from the Venice Beach Boardwalk, The Lighthouse is surrounded by performers, artists, and musicians.

4. Erewhon

What I’ve coined as “better than a dating app,” Erewhon is the perfect place to fuel your body, shop for (very expensive) groceries, and grab a trendy $20+ smoothie or hot bar plate. It’s the ultimate lifestyle choice and you will certainly find LA’s hottest and wealthiest strolling the aisles.

WHERE TO LIVE

So, if you’ve now been convinced to make a move to Venice, I have 2 great opportunities for you to get your foot in the door! My two lovely listings on Market Street are available both individually as well as together, creating an opportunity to build a large compound with plans from local renowned architect Matthew Royce.

313 Market Street | Offered at $1,350,000
2 Beds, 1 Bath, 745 SF

Charming Venice bungalow one block from Abbot Kinney!

This lovely 1913 home retains its original character while incorporating modern updates. The stained glass window, built-in shelving, and hardwood floors blend seamlessly with designer light fixtures and custom window treatments to create a timeless and stylish interior. The kitchen and one of the two bedrooms open to a pergola-covered patio that overlooks the lush, spacious backyard. There’s so much charm and warmth in this classic Venice bungalow, plus it’s ideally located just blocks from the beach and all the incredible shopping and dining on Abbot Kinney Blvd, including hotspots like RVR, Hume, The Lighthouse, Belle’s Beach House, the upcoming Soho House Venice, and more. The neighboring property at 311 Market St is also available for sale, creating the opportunity to own an even larger compound or to build a house across both lots with plans from renowned local architect Matthew Royce, AIA (Coastal Development Permit approved plans, renderings and engineering have lapsed but are available to be updated with the architect). A great opportunity to live the laid back Venice lifestyle. Renderings are of proposed plans from the architect; no representation is being made as to what can actually be built.

311 Market Street | Offered at $1,595,000
3 Beds, 2 Baths, 1,706 SF

Classic California bungalow in prime Venice!

Located just one block from Abbot Kinney, this mini-compound has two residences on one lot, offering the option to enjoy both homes as a main residence or use as an income-producing property. The front house is a charming 1905 bungalow with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and multiple bonus spaces including an office/sunroom and a den/TV room. Above the detached garage is a separate guest apartment with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and an eat-in kitchen. Stellar location, just blocks from the beach and all the incredible shopping and dining on Abbot Kinney Blvd, including hotspots like RVR, Hume, The Lighthouse, Belle’s Beach House, the upcoming Soho House Venice, and more. The neighboring property at 313 Market St is also available for sale, creating the opportunity to own an even larger compound or to build a house across both lots with plans from renowned local architect Matthew Royce, AIA (Coastal Development Permit approved plans, renderings and engineering have lapsed but are available to be updated with the architect). Opportunity awaits with this quintessentially Venice property. Renderings are of proposed plans from the architect; no representation is being made as to what can actually be built
